QMI Solutions to present seminars for Queensland manufacturers at QMan
A range of seminars designed to help Queensland manufacturers become more competitive will be held at the 2008 Queensland Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (QMan) at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from October 21-23.
The seminars will be presented by QMI Solutions , a not-for-profit organisation that helps companies on the journey to ‘manufacturing excellence’ through its knowledge and expertise, applied research and advanced training and process engineering.
According to QMI Solutions CEO Jim Walker, QMan is the ideal forum to engage with Queensland manufacturers.
“QMan is the premier manufacturing event in Queensland, and it’s important for us to participate so we can help the local industry become more competitive both domestically and regionally,” said Walker.
“By working with some key industry players we’re able to present some cutting edge information.”
The seminars will run on Tuesday, October 21 and Thursday, October 23 and will cover the following topics:
- Technology applications for manufacturing
- Getting a head start on the skills shortage
- Supplier opportunities for major projects
The Technology applications for manufacturing seminar will be presented in conjunction with the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Queensland and will showcase the latest manufacturing research projects. The seminar will allow manufacturers to provide feedback to the researchers.
The ‘Getting a head start on the skills shortage’ seminar will be presented in conjunction with Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ), which has been set up to help Queensland manufacturers develop skilling strategies.
The Industry Capability Network (ICN), a division of QMI Solutions, will be presenting the Supplier opportunities for major projects seminar.
Paul Baker, Exhibition Manager at organiser Reed Exhibitions, is delighted that QMI Solutions is again presenting a series of seminars at QMan 2008 – as it did in 2006.
